As you should know by now, my name is Jon Karanopoulos. I've been teaching at San Diego High School since 1997. I currently teach two Auto Shop classes, and a ninth grade AVID class. I attended San Diego High for three years as a high school student. In 1971, 72, and graduated 1973. After high school I attended Pepperdine, Christian Heritage, Grossmont, and transferred to San Diego State, and majored in Education and Geology. After college I married my dream girl, and had three great kids (all boys). My youngest Josh is currently in the 8th grade, AJ is in the 9th, and my oldest is a freshman at San Diego State.

Not only am I a family man and a teacher, I'm a man of many interests. I love going camping, NASCAR's, drag racing, and automobiles in general. I enjoy watching basketball, and my two favorite teams, Chargers and the Padres. My favorite music is of course old school, and no I don't mean the Beastie boys or Run DMC, but the real old school. I mean the Temptation's, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fire, basically the early Motown, and a little bit of Led Zeppelin.
